| Wow! The Youth Ministareal Association in my little town put together an event called the 7 Project. What happens is this event comes into the Middle/High School and do an assembly which is fantastic and then all the students are invited back to the High School that night for an evening event. At the end of the assembly the students are told that tonights event is put on by the faith community of our town and that there will be faith based content there.... At the night service they are told the Gospel!!! WE had 439 Students 6-12th grades show up. All of which heard the Gospel, 62 Received Christ as their Savior for the first time and 14 wanted to know more about what it meant to follow God- this is all besides the students who just went to the prayer room to pray for a friend. God is working in our small little community, but I am ready for a REVIVAL!!!!! God is ALWAYS good! Kati | | |
| I am just watching the morning new and they are reporting that acid wash jeans and neon pants are back in style...hello 80's I lived through you once and really dont want to again. I think I am going to take a stand against the injustice and not wear pencil stone washed jeans and neon hammer pants! Anyway, thats not why I am writing.
Our church is still without a pastor. I have been their longer without a pastor than I was with a pastor, and I am getting tired of the Board(s) running the church. Correct me if I am way off base, but isnt the Associate Pastor supposed to be a leader in the church? However, I am not asked anything that has to do with getting another pastor, I am not even told when, who or if they have ever interviewed anyone. We had a man show up in church and TELL ME he was interviewed and then I get "in trouble" for talking to him.... ahhhhh. #1I am not an idiot! #2 Perhaps if you respected me enough to tel lme what is going on, I woul be happy to conincide with your desires. BLAH! I know that God has placed me here even for such a time as this, and yet I go back and forth at least once a week as to WHY I am here... Please continue to lift me up in prayer, and also Jordan. He is seeing my frustration and although he finally has a good job, wants to quit his job to become a pastor. However, we both know that God hasnt released us from here yet. Anyway he is getting anxious and I am getting stressed. On a lighter note, our son is amazing and adorable. He is 8 mths old today and is wonderful! I want you to know that I miss you and wish I could visit, but I also know that God will place us where we can be used best. Love you. Kati | | |
| Well, I didnt get yelled at! Which came as a real shock. It has almost been 2 weeks since our outing and I havent heard anything and yet, I still crouch around every cornor becasue deep down inside I know I can't let my guard down. Eventually I will do something else and this will be brought up... Oh well. Life is going. I am really into this book called The Seven Checkpoints- Seven Principles Every Tenager Needs to Know... WOW it is GOOOOOD!!!!!!!!! Anyway, I love you. and miss you. Everyone should move to Kentucky, or or or... something like that... any openings your way? hehe, Love you. Kati | | |
| Well, I am taking my baby with me on a youth outing... Now, I was told before that other people arent allowed to take their kids with them on youth outings (namely my youth counselors) but I have no one to watch my son, so my husband will come watch him when he gets done.. about 1 hr into our outing. I will bet, by this time tomorrow, I will have gotten at least one, if not two, horrible phone calls from some mothers in our youth group about how "it is church policy (which it isnt) that parents cant take their children on youth outings." I am so frustrated and feed up with this church that I am very earnestly asking God to place my husband and I elsewhere. I have never been in a situation where I detested the Church so much as I do right now!!! If you make me choose over my son or the youth of this church, my son will win- EVERY TIME!!! Well, thats about it joes. I love you, and my heart breaks to see you again. Pastor Kati | | |
| | Well friends, I have been kinda beat up lately, spiritually speaking. I have been struggling with some issues (that I am not going to get into) about me as a Pastor and feeling like a pastor... Then last week I had a youth, very rudely ask me what I do all day.. "Do you do anything?" he asked. This came at such a shock to me that I didnt have an answer for him. And this isnt some snotty little Kid, he is a GREAT youth! (all of them are: but seriously, I have never had any trouble from him.) SO now, I feel as if there is some issue that I am missing with my youth that they have to ask me what I do all day... I do, LOTS all day, but they dont see it all, do they see anything? I am doing, doing, doing, but what do I NEED to be doing? Then I was studying Colossians today and ran across this scripture and fell in love, "And we pray this in order that you may live a life worthy of the Lord and may please him in every way: bearing fruit in every good work, growing in the knowledge of God, being strengthened with all power according to his glorious might so that you may have great endurance and patience, and joyfully giving thanks to the Father, WHO HAS QUALIFIED YOU to share in the inheritacne of the saints in the kingdom of light." I know he is talking about my salvation, but just to hear the Words, HE QUALIFIED ME... makes me believe that I am qualified to lead these youth and to love them. If you wouldnt mind Please pray this prayer from Colossians 1:9-10 for me these next few weeks... Thanks. "For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will throught all spiritual wisdom and understanding." |
